Fidel Amharic Keyboard support
Shown on your device as “ፊደል.” Smart transliteration with on-device suggestions and optional haptics. This page includes setup, troubleshooting, privacy details, and how to contact us.
Requirements
iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 15 or later.
Network access is not required for typing or suggestions.
Install & Enable
Install the app from the App Store.
Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → select “ፊደል”.
(Optional) Tap “ፊደል” → turn on “Allow Full Access” to enable haptics and settings sync. Typing works without this.
Using the Keyboard
Transliteration: type te to get ተ (works across consonants and vowels).
Suggestions: predictive text and autocorrect are on by default; accept with a tap.
Haptics: toggle the haptic button on the keyboard top bar (requires Full Access).
Layout: switch between ፊደል and system keyboards with the globe icon.
Troubleshooting
Keyboard not showing: confirm it is added under Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards.
No haptics: enable “Allow Full Access” and ensure device haptics are on.
Still stuck? Reboot the device, then re-add the keyboard.
Privacy & Data
Keystrokes and learned words stay on-device; nothing is sent to external servers.
Full Access is used only to control haptic feedback and preferences.
No ads, third-party tracking, or analytics SDKs are included.
